In early December our friend Leslie took some cute shots of us for Christmas cards. Of course we're never on time for anything, not even Christmas. Yes, we still have a few cards sitting on the table waiting to be mailed.

Most people know that I'm not the world's biggest fan of animals. However, I must say that I am some what of a fan of our Dog Jayce. She really is a good dog. She knows I'm not in love with her and she really gives me space. I know if it were up to Lauri, Jayce would have free reign in our home. Jayce has her own bed and limited areas of the house where she is welcome. She does a great job at not crossing my boundaries.
My favorite thing about having a dog is how happy it makes Lauri. She is such an animal lover. I'm glad Jayce is able to give her a comfort that I'm not able to. She's her constant companion. I guess I get jealous sometimes.

I am truly happy in my life with Lauri, and I look forward to each new day of true friendship, love, excitement and time together. I have great expectations for our future but I guess I get ahead of myself sometimes. I have to remind myself to live in the beautiful moments around me.

I read a quote yesterday that said, "life is not about waiting for the storms to pass, but about learning to dance in the rain."

When Lauri and I first met she described me as a passive pessimist. I don't know that the description has changed too much, but I've been learning to be an active optimist. It's harder than you'd think it should be.
