The colors have faded

Since I started school in August, I've been driving through Sardine Canyon at least twice a week. It has been great to experience the fall colors so often. The first week of September the colors were outstanding. Each time I passed through they would seem to intoxicate me and at the same time leave me humbled. However, today as I came home from school it was sad to see all the beautiful red, orange, purple, and pink colors had faded. The scene is brown and yellow with a few specks of green and even less orange. Well, it was inspiring while it lasted. I'm not sure how winter will be, having to travel through the canyon so often. No more sleeping in I guess.
