Excitement

So, Candace is due on Wednesday. I can hardly believe that my baby sister is going to be having a baby of her own. I wish I was able to be a better resource for her and that I had answers for all her questions. Now that she's nearing the end I have to chuckle about the beginning.
  • To tell everyone they were pregnant, Jared wore a shirt to Sunday dinner that said, "I love my pregnant wife."
  • In the following few weeks there was a flood of questions, mostly directed to my mom. The best one was, over a plate of spaghetti, "Mom, did you have to have an episiomoty?"
  • A few baby showers here and there offered some great gifts. There should be showers for more thing than just weddings and babies.
  • Then, last week Candace says, "You should see my legs. I think I have elephantitis!" and "Do you think my baby will be huge, like 10lbs?" and "Andrea, you have no idea, you just have no idea. My body is going through some crazy things, and I'm swollen everywhere. You just have no idea."

Now the countdown is on. The crib is assembled, the curtains are hung and I think the nursery is nearly ready. The question is, are Candace and Jared ready.
